The 1920s love affair with tropical themes and elegant use of color is expressed in this Art Deco flower vase necklace. Within a black enamel frame, a jardiniere vase holds an arrangement of palm leaves,an iridescent glass purple flower and buds. Classic geometric deco ornament of the pendant suspends a faceted black drop with glass flowers and leaves. Along the double sided chain, oval links echo the design and elements of the pendant. Exquisitely ornamented by hand and finished in warm bronze. Chain length 26" Pendant portion: 4"x1" Designed and made in our Los Angeles studio. Coordinating earrings and bracelet are offered.
The Inspiration... The 1920s jewelry designs of Cartier featured lapidary carving of flowers and fruits in gemstones which carried over into the glass elements of costume jewels. Long necklaces were known as sautoirs. This necklace is from our Cafe Society (the movie) collection. One can imagine Vonnie (Kristen Stewart) wearing this necklace on a seductive background of black silk.
