It is our detail and exquisite craftsmanship that makes Sweet Romance jewelry so fascinating and timeless. This sautoir style necklace features a large blue sculptured glass cabochon from the 1930s. We fuse delicate floral brackets onto an open bezel so that light may pass through the blue glass. The tiny brackets are burnished and enameled. A hand fabricated tassel swings below, made with miniature hex chain, crystal accented teardrops and a cap struck from antique dies. Graduated bar chain is stationed with old sapphire blue faceted beads of the same vintage as the cabochon. Finished in warm bronze. Length: 28" Tassel drapes another 4"You ask -- where did we get the glass elements? Decades ago, I had the good fortune of acquiring crates of never-used jewelry parts, circa 1900 - 1940 from an importer to the trade. Still wrapped in their delicate tissue, packed in crumbling paper boxes, we regard each piece as a little treasure, each as an emissary of its illustrious place in fashion history. Once the glass cabochon is exhausted, we can no longer make this necklace.
