Shelley's comments: To keep the foot dainty and inconspicuous, boots were constructed on narrow lasts with the ankle covered. Ironically, the tight lacing and buttons had the opposite affect and augmented the shapeliness of a woman’s leg. Boots and shoes entered a new realm. All the shoes in my collection are made in jewelry metal and ornamented in enamels and lacquers and fine crystal. Each is a detailed miniature sculpture entirely manufactured in our studio in Los Angeles.
