The expression of speed in graduated linear forms is typical of art deco design. It is a metaphor for the machines, vehicles and buildings of the new industrial age. Our pendant motif may be viewed as a cascade of moving, sparkling water. Or, inverted, it is a skyscraper with an ornamental facade. Details and beads are Bohemian glass and cut hematite stones.
